Cosmic Campeo
piérdete en la magia
The Feeling
Look up. That's really where this one begins.
Joshua Tree has always felt like that to us — a place of mystery, of curiosity, of "what else is out there?" So we come to the desert to sit with it. To rest, to play, to let our inner niña have the kind of night she’s craved.
And the best part? The magic isn't something we hand you — it's whatever las brujitas bring. One amiga shows up with oracle cards. Another with a sound bowl. Someone starts a playlist, someone starts singing, and next thing you know, we're around the fire doing things we'll still be talking about a year later. Silly one minute, existential the next. Onesies and oracle cards in the same breath.
That's the frequency of Campeo. Cósmica. La magia está en nosotras.
Qué es un Cosmic Campeo?
A desert campout under the night sky — stargazing, fire, ritual, rest, y whatever magic las amigas decide to bring that year. It's not over-planned on purpose.
Part camping trip, part cosmic jangueo. We hold the space, y ustedes bring la magia.
Our Story
Cosmic Campeo started last year — our first annual, before we even knew it'd become a thing we'd do again.
The plan was simple: gather under a real dark sky, on land held by an amigo in the high desert, on the ancestral lands of the Serrano, Chemehuevi, and Cahuilla peoples.
What made it real was everything we didn't plan. The fire circle. The playlist nobody knew they needed. The way amigas kept showing up with exactly the kind of magic the night was asking for — tarot, sound bowls, a hip-hop performance around the fire that became a whole moment. We came for the stars. Nos fuimos con cuentos.
This year, we're gathering again — con un upgrade.
THIS YEAR: A NIGHT WITH SKY'S THE LIMIT
Here's what makes this year extra special.
We're linking up with Sky's the Limit — a nonprofit observatory and nature center right on the edge of Joshua Tree, in one of the darkest, most star-drenched skies in the West (it borders an official International Dark Sky Park). They've got a wild walk-through model of the solar system you can literally step through, and telescopes pointed at worlds most of us have only seen in pictures.
We'll be there for one of their night sky events — where a woman scientist walks us through the cosmos. Porque here's the thing: our ancestors always read this sky. They used it to find their way, to plant, to pray. We're just remembering how.
What It’s Like
Days move at whatever pace the desert sets. Mornings are slow. Someone makes coffee, someone leads a stretch if the vibe calls for it, and we ease into the day sin prisa.
Then the sun starts to drop, and the sky turns colors that make everyone go quiet and reach for their phones — golden hour basically demands a photoshoot, so we take one.
We cook for each other. We clean for each other. Nos cuidamos like comadres.
Nights are where the magic lives. The fire gets going. Someone pulls out a ukulele. Oracle cards get passed around the circle. Sound bowls come out. By this point, half of us are in onesies, and nobody questions it. It's ridiculous and sacred at the same time — y ese es el punto.
Where we stay: it's glamp-ish. We're on a private site with a flush toilet, a shower, and kitchen access (gracias al amigo que nos presta su tierra) — but we still sleep in tents, so you get the real desert-camping magic without roughing it too hard. First timer? Perfecto. We'll walk you through everything.
Every Year Writes Its Own Story
No two years are the same — porque it all depends on who shows up y qué magia traen. Some years are more witchy, some more silly, some more still. Todas son nuestras.
Maybe this is the year you find out what kind of bruja you are.
