The Magic We Made Juntas

Was it a vacation? Technically. But ES 0424 felt more like collective liberation wrapped in sun, sonrisas, and sacred ass joy.

I don’t remember the last time I laughed that much. That was the first time I felt alive again
— Norma formerly in her sad girl era

We kicked things off by glamping on top of Volcán Conchagua, aligned with a full moon.

That night? Literal magic.
Laura and Gaby guided us through a ritual with sage, fire, crystals, and reflection. We howled at the moon (some of us naked, no shame), and laid it all down under the stars.

In the morning, the sky exploded with color and we danced into the sunrise like the wild mujeres we are.
Later, we transformed those same crystals into handmade jewelry with Laura—necklaces, cuffs, charms. Every piece held energy, intention, and a story.

Watching the sunrise was so peaceful and a much needed reminder to slow down and just be.
— Karen full of gratitude

And then came the surf. Most of us had never touched a board in our lives but shoutout to Wayo Surf School that had us riding those waves. Jannine cried tears of joy as she twerked on the surfboard. Norma’s giggle of felicidad of standing on that board was pure gold. It was chaos and courage in the best way.

I didn’t think I could stand on a surfboard... now I don’t want to come home.
— Jannine chillando tears of gratitude

In Tamanique, we hiked deep into the cascadas with Captain Rodezno—learning about the plants, the stories, and the healing power of land.
Yes, we jumped off cliffs. Yes, we screamed the whole way down.

Jumping was scary. But not jumping felt scarier.
— Chitra leading con su inner salvaje

One of the highlights of this adventure was our fiesta with the niños in Comasagua. Before the trip, Adventure Amigas organized to collect essentials—clothing, dinero for local pantry staples, and toys. Era super importante for us to show up intentionally and thoughtfully for this comunidad, where hospitality runs deep and joy radiates despite limited resources.

We brought piñatas, face paint, sandwiches, and regalos for the kiddos—y tambien medicina for the families. They gave us joy, hugs, and a peek into their way of life—one rooted in care, land, and community.

Comasagua reminded us that showing up for each other, with joy, care, and intention, is the real adventure.
— ned con su corazóncito lleno

Comasagua is a place that stays with you. And we’re still in touch with the leaders there—if you, gentle reader, ever feel called to support this comunidad, hit us up!

We learned to make our own pupusas from Marta— aka queen of the comal and owner of her own pupuseria. Y despues, nos fuimos a la calle where we danced barefoot on the beach and took over a pirate bar with beer pong and bachata.

Words are not enough to express what Amiga Airlines does or feels like; hope more have the honor to experience it!
— Carol la ambientada

Core Memories That Live Rent-Free in Our Cabezas

  • Howling at the moon, naked and free

  • Welcoming el sol on top of el Volcán de Conchagua

  • Surfing and Twerking

  • Community-love with Comasagua

  • Laughing until we couldn’t breathe in our shared room sleepover

  • Showering juntas in a communal outdoor shower even though we had our own private shower (que viva la salvajeria)

Why ES 0424 Was THAT Trip

This was our first official Amiga Airlines flight. And it gave exactly what it needed to give.

We connected with people who opened their homes, their hearts, and their playas to us.

We danced. We cried. We cooked. We surfed. We remembered who we are.

Gracias to every Amiga who showed up fully. And to our Captains, artesanas, surf instructors, and community partners who made this more than a trip—it was a transformation.
